St. Augustine Ear, Nose and Throat, LLC receives CT accreditation by the IAC
St. Augustine, Fla. – January 23, 2014 – Dr. Kalpana DePasquale, DO and founder of St. Augustine Ear, Nose & Throat and Avanti Medical Spa, recently received accreditation for Computed Tomography (CT) equipment located at the practice, 1301 Plantation Island Drive S., Suite 401 in St. Augustine. The CT is a highly regarded diagnostic imaging tool to detect minute differences in tissues along with highly complex imaging capabilities. The on-site CT is used to diagnose patients and conditions of the sinus and temporal bones.
According to Dr. DePasquale, early detection of diseases will now be available to patients during their examinations in the office through the use of CT procedures. “We can now offer our patients a lower radiation dose with the Xoran designed MiniCAT™ sinus scan. This CT has a lower radiation dose than conventional sinus scans by a full-body CT scanner,” she said. “The innovative technology optimizes x-ray efficiency while minimizing the radiation dose to the patient with unprecedented, high-resolution images of the sinuses, skull base and temporal bones.”
Dr. DePasquale along with Dr. Zeeshan S. Aziz and Amy Dugan PA-C, and trained and certified medical technicians will perform the testing with the background, knowledge and skills to interpret physician and quality assured measures that are critical to quality patient testing. The practice has been granted a three-year term of accreditation in CT in the areas of sinus and temporal bone CT by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
St. Augustine Ear, Nose and Throat has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts and was found to be providing quality patient care in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.
